  • The Secret Life of Plants

Tuesday 5th March at Passing Clouds, Hackney, 1 Richmond Rd, Behind the Haggerston Pub. Doors open at 6.45pm

Join us at the Permaculture Picturehouse for an evening exploring the mysterious, neglected and thrilling realm of plant intelligence. We will be hearing the latest from plant neurobiologists, and then showing our evenings feature film, ‘The Secret Life of Plants”, a 1970’s Gem. Through history, art, music and groundbreaking science this film looks at our relationship with the vegetable kingdom – and how little we really know about our green brethren. It will change the way you feel about your garden greens....

The evening will include a SEED SWAP, so we invite all to bring some of your favourite to exchange with others.

  • Welcome!

PERMACULTURE is rooted in deep understanding of NATURAL LAW, using the insights gleaned from the observation of natural systems to inform our interventions. It reconnects us to the LIFE WEB, in an interconnected whole systems approach for designing our FOOD PROVISION, SHELTER, HEALTH, MEANS OF EXCHANGE, SOCIAL STRUCTURES. It offers a way of understanding the world and our place in it. It is re-education in the deepest sense.

The PERMACULTURE PICTUREHOUSE is a space for talks, films and connecting with others along the broad theme of permaculture - from LAND USE and DESIGN, HEALTH and HEALING, insights from SHAMANISM and NATIVE TRADITION, MONEY - and it's alternatives.... and much more. It is a space for exploration and celebration, and retelling of our story in this time of transition.

The FIRST TUESDAY of the month, from 6:45pm (show starts 7:30pm).
